-- Iran’s annual grains output up by 13.5%: Minister
Iran’s Agriculture Minister Javad Sadatinejad said the country’s grains output rose by 13.5% in the year to late August.
Sadatinejad said that Iran’s total production of wheat, barley and corn rose to 20.3 million tons in the year to August 22, up from 17.9 million tons reported for the year to late August 2021.
The minister made the remarks in a speech in the central Iranian city of Qom about efforts to ensure Iran’s food security at the time the country faces US sanctions.
-- Russian envoy: Moscow-Tehran trade ties expansion on agenda
Russian Ambassador to Iran Alexey Dedov said that developing relations between Iran and Russia, especially trade exchanges, is on the agenda of the two countries. Dedov made the remarks in an address to the Iran-Russia business conference.
He said that the two countries have discussed developing cooperation between ministries, central banks, and security bodies. Dedov added that the Russian delegation is in Iran to take the necessary measures for materializing $4 billion worth of trade exchanges.

-- Iran Urges Iraq to Stop Threats Originating From Kurdistan
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian has urged the neighboring Iraq to stop threats posed to Tehran from the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region. Amir-Abdollahian made the remark in a phone call with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein.
During the conversation, the Iranian top diplomat described security as a key element both at regional level and in bilateral relations. “The Islamic Republic does not expect to be threatened from the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in view of the two countries’ excellent relations,” Amir-Abdollahian said, adding, “The central government in Iraq is responsible to stamp out these terrorist measures.”

Iran’s para-shooter Zahra Gholamzadeh has secured her berth for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris. Gholamzadeh at the Al Ain 2022 World Championships, UAE, made a good record in the R9 - 50m Rifle Prone and qualified for the preliminary stage.
Prior to this, Nasrin Shahi of Iran had secured berth for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

-- Tehran hosts grand Iran-Russia business forum
Iranian capital Tehran hosted a grand Iran-Russia business forum at Espinas Palace Hotel on Tuesday. Organized by the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), the event was participated by a 120-member Russian delegation as well as businesspeople and officials from Iran, the ICCIMA portal reported.
ICCIMA Head Gholam-Hossein Shafeie, Russian Ambassador to Iran Alexey Yurievich Dedov, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari, and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin were among the officials who attended the forum.

Archaeologists have recently unearthed the ruins of a prehistorical fortress, estimated to date some 2,700 years in Tepe Rivi, northeast Iran.
During their tenth season of excavation on Rivi archaeological hill, archaeologists have found remains of a military fortress, assessed to date back to 2,700 years ago, CHTN quoted North Khorasan province’s tourism chief as saying on Tuesday.
-- Ex-Iran midfielder Navidkia shortlisted for Iran U23 job
Former Iran football team midfielder Moharram Navidkia is a candidate to take charge of Iran U23 football team. The 40-year-old trainer has most recently worked as head coach of Iranian club Sepahan football team.
Mehdi Mahdavikia resigned from his post as head coach of the U23 team in early October. He shared a message on his Instagram story, declaring he has no relationship with Iran football federation.
